So I just want to share with you a food adventure I had the other day with Alex.  Alex and I were planning on going to a crepe place but it was closed. So we walked down the street and around the corner and found The House of Shaw Espresso Cafe. It was tucked behind the bigger buildings and wasn’t much to look at. But I didn’t feel like going anywhere else so I convinced Alex that we should eat there. Plus, it had a sign that said homemade pastries. I’m a sucker for pastries. So we go in, there were two older gentlemen sitting at a table chatting and another one by himself. Looking at him from the back he totally looked hipster. I expected him to be a 20ish year old…but he was about 40ish. Then we walked up to the counter. I was a bit disappointed because I didn’t see a huge glass case of endless pastries with chocolate and fruits. Instead, there were two baskets: one with carrot cake and the other with brownies. The barista was already making a drink when we approached the counter but still asked what he could start for us (which is impressive that a guy can do two things at once! ahaha).  I ordered an iced white mocha with whip cream on top. I’m really picky with my coffee because I don’t like it too bitter or too sweet. Only place I’ve found that does it the way I like is Starbucks. Alex ordered a bagel with cream cheese and raw salmon on top. It came with alfalfa and lettuce salad and vinaigrette dressing. I ordered a croissant with melted jack cheese. Both dishes were soooo delicious. The food wasn’t expensive, the customer service was EXCELLENT and it was such a great experience. I really felt like I wasn’t in Stockton anymore….which was great because I was in Stockton! Not in a negative way. But the cafe was authentic enough that I felt like I was visiting another foreign place (if that makes sense).

All to say, I had a great day with Alexander eating great food and watching a very COURAGEOUS movie :D

Made these small flyers for my youth group. We walked around the neighborhood and gave them mac&cheese boxes with these flyers. They’re not much because I had to save ink :D But I had fun making them.
